Willventory ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Willventory mobile app and website (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and your choices.
Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (hashed — we never store your password in plain text).
Item data. When you add items, we store the name, description, estimated value, beneficiary name, and photo you provide.
Photos. Photos you upload are stored on Uploadcare's content-delivery network so the app can display them. If you use our AI features, photos are also sent to third-party AI services (see Section 3 below).
Device identifier. If you use the app without signing in, we generate a random device key stored on your device so your items stay linked to you. This key is not tied to your hardware ID.
Purchase information. If you purchase Plus or Pro, the transaction is handled by Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We receive a confirmation of your purchase status but do not see or store your payment method details.

Willventory offers optional AI-powered features that help you identify items and estimate their value from a photo. These features are opt-in — the app asks for your explicit permission before sending any data.
What data is sent
When you tap an AI button (e.g., "Fill name + description"), the photo you took or selected is sent to a third-party AI service for analysis. No other personal information (name, email, beneficiary names) is sent.
Who processes it
How your data is protected
Photos are transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. These AI services process the photo to generate a text response and do not store your photo after processing is complete. Both providers offer data protection commitments that are equal to or exceed our own.
Your consent
The app displays a consent dialog the first time you use an AI feature. You must tap "Allow" before any photo is transmitted. If you tap "Don't Allow," no data is sent and the AI feature is not used. You can view and change your AI permission at any time from Profile → AI Privacy inside the app.
In addition to the AI services described above, we use the following services to operate Willventory:
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app.
When you delete your account, all items, photos, beneficiary assignments, and personal information are permanently removed from our servers.
Willventory is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
